At Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital, we provide one-stop shop emergency and scheduled medical care services.
In emergency cases, we admit patients with:
- ambulance crew referrals,
- referrals from a physician or a paramedic stating a case of emergency.
Patients with no referral will be examined and evaluated on principle of urgency.
To schedule an entree: patients have to obtain a referral from a primary-care physician or a specialist, the physician or specialist has to telephone in advance the corresponding ward and arrange patient's reception. A referral for a scheduled entree can be obtained from:
- primary-care physician (family practitioners, general practitioners, pediatrists);
- a specialist, whose been assign by a primary-care physician for examination;
- physiatrist, psychiatrist, venereologist, narcologists, gynecologist, as well as endocrinologists for diabetes patients, dentists for children until the age of 18.
