Rare and complicated backbone operations at Stradins Hospital

 

May 19, In collaboration with European colleagues Petr Vanek from Prague Military hospital (the Czech Republic) arrived at Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital Neurosurgery clinic to perform backbones stabilization operations. He operated two young Latvian patients with rarely observed backbones deformations.

The Center of Occupational and Radiological Medicine currently is the only institutions in Latvia that is qualified to provide the following:

  • Coordinate and conduct patient treatment who suffer from occupational and ray pathology

  • Offer quality consultative, out-patient and in-patient care for patients suffering from occupational illnesses and persons with a high risk factor to develop occupational pathologies, as well as persons who were exposed to the aftermath of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster

  • Perform diagnostics and treatment of occupation and occupation related illnesses

  • Improve the rehabilitation (acupuncture, laser therapy, gymnastics etc.) of patients suffering from occupation illnesses and persons who were exposed to the aftermath of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster

  • Consult employers on First Aid planning and other labor safety procedures
