Rare and complicated backbone operations at Stradins Hospital

 

May 19, In collaboration with European colleagues Petr Vanek from Prague Military hospital (the Czech Republic) arrived at Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital Neurosurgery clinic to perform backbones stabilization operations. He operated two young Latvian patients with rarely observed backbones deformations.

Patients at the Day Time Stationary (Stationary) need to know that:

The Stationary is for patients who don’t need to stay at the Hospital overnight.

Patients are sent to the Stationary by a physicians or specialists recommendation.

Before patients enter the Stationary they have to confirm the date with a Physician at the Stationary, and if necessary, undergo some ambulatory examination.

Patients are required to enter the Stationary between 8:00 - 10:00.

Patients have to bring with them:

-          Referral from a physician or a specialist
-          Passport
-          Insurance policy
-          Slippers
-          Bathrobe
-          Medication 

All documentation are done by the Stationary staff.

Patients are prepared for examinations and surgeries (if scheduled) by the Stationary physician.

Before leaving the Stationary patients have to settle their bill.

At the Stationary patients are offered drinks, no food is provided. Patients can take their food with them or order from the cafeteria.
