Rare and complicated backbone operations at Stradins Hospital

 

May 19, In collaboration with European colleagues Petr Vanek from Prague Military hospital (the Czech Republic) arrived at Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital Neurosurgery clinic to perform backbones stabilization operations. He operated two young Latvian patients with rarely observed backbones deformations.

From Beginnings till Nowadays

 

Our hospital - biggest and most important treatment institution in Latvia has changed its name eight times:

1910. - Founding - 2. Hospital of Riga City

1940. - 1941. In Soviet times - State Clinical Hospital

1941 - 1944 - In time of German era - again 2. Hospital of Riga City

1944 - 1948 - State Clinical Hospital again, then Clinical Hospital of Republic

1958 - Paul Stradins Clinical Hospital of Republic

1993 - Paul Stradins Clinical State Hospital

1995 - Pauls Stradins Clinical Hospital of Latvian Medical Academy

1999 - Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital

People have used to name it Stradins Hospital or the shorter version - Stradini.
